Why we infuse our oils slowly

Every batch starts weeks before the soap is poured. We fill glass jars with botanicals like annatto or Himalayan rhubarb, cover them with extra virgin olive oil, and leave them on a sunny bench.
Patience over heat
Heat would speed things up, but a slow, cool infusion keeps the colour soft and the scent gentle. Each day the jars get a turn, and by the end the oil has taken on its colour.
From jar to bar
Once strained, the infused oil goes straight into the soap pot. It's where Golden Indigo gets its warm, golden hues.
